Background
Bangkok, one of the busiest cities in the world, is home to people who have little time to exercise due to long work hours and two to three hours of commuting daily.
Bangkok Expressway and Metro, in partnership with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, recognize that fast walking offers significantly more benefits than regular walking, even approaching the health benefits of running. We saw an opportunity to encourage people to enjoy fast walking without any barriers.
Idea
We launched the world's first "Fast Walk Stadium" at Bangkok’s largest and longest main underground station, aiming to inspire people to maximize their routine walking commutes. This space features a four-dimensional billboard that illuminates the entire walkway with playful walking characters, created by a renowned Thai illustrator. Equipped with sensors, the billboard broadcasts fun motivational messages, transforming this area into an extraordinary phenomenon for everyone to enjoy.
Result
The campaign has successfully sparked interest in fast walking among Thais. Consequently, Bang Sue's main underground walkway and the "Fast Walk Stadium" have become popular spots for photo ops, learning about the benefits of fast walking, and enjoying exercise.
