Music:
For this spot we wanted to create a fun, exotic, track that you might stumble across in a jazz club in Morocco or Ethiopia, or as a soundtrack to an 60s Italian spy movie. It leans boldly into a lofi, warm and dusty sound with a slightly exotic musical palette that existed in cinema soundtracks around the 60s. Overall we’ve aimed to create a moods that reflects the ‘knives out’ personality of the pictures, that slightly builds and lifts when we get to the final page, and then an abruptly cuts off when the light is switched off to give the Telstra logo gravitas.
Sound:
We designed a subtle soundscape that leans into a indie/vintage film feel, with analog production techniques applied and a few ambiguous spot FX peppered in with the stylised page turning foley. The atmos is designed in a minimal way to avoid detracting focus from the music and to help draw us into the mysterious, playful feeling of the titles.
