Pride in London borrows classic Jubilee iconography to mark 50 years of queer revolt.
2019 is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York, an event that started the modern Pride movement. Pride in London’s new film, by BMB, opens at the Stonewall Inn on 28 June 1969, before moving through other key moments in the fight for LGBT+ equality. It features an all LGBT+ cast who reenact historic scenes that have defined what Pride is today. Outdoor ads nod to classic royal portraiture, using the visual language of the most privileged people in history to elevate some of the most marginalised and oppressed.
