More than 2 million Irish people have emigrated to Australia, on the other side of the world. This tears families apart, especially at Christmas. Three Mobile and Samsung wanted to help, creating a unique brand experience that used everyday technology to bring these families together for Christmas Dinner.

They launched The Connected Restaurant, the World’s first restaurant where every table is split between Dublin and Sydney, 17,209km apart. Within minutes, the restaurant was booked for 3 months solid and families stuck on 2 sides of the world finally got to experience Christmas dinner together, around 1 table.

The Connected Restaurant proved a perfect demonstration of Three Mobile and Samsung's Brand purpose - it used technology to bring people together in a truly unique and meaningful way. Within minutes, every sitting of the restaurant was booked out for 3 months solid.


The film was viewed by 8.5m people (nearly twice the population of Ireland) and both brands recorded an uplift in brand sentiment and brand health. 70% of viewers felt an increase in Three's network strength, while overall brand health increased 1.5% while the experience was open.


The experience was picked up, not just in Ireland and Australia, but by the world’s media and inspired those who couldn't get a booking that they could host a connected dinner of their own.
