COMPULSORY is proud to release the latest collaboration from Emmanuel Adjei and Sevdaliza after their worldwide success last year, Human.
Working creatively over 18months with the artist, Emmanuel and Sevdaliza teamed up again to address strong themes of slavery and materialism for one of the albums most cinematic scores yet.
All captured in a real desert, the film sees a modern day slave break away from his oppression only to be lured by a bright mirage in the distance. Tempted by consumerism and lust, he is once again a prisoner to his own environment, forever trapped in a cycle.
The team at COMPULSORY worked with We Transfer Studios who provided a portion of the budget to realise this ambitious project. The film was also a concerted effort between the companies representing Emmanuel. Spearheaded by the lead prod company COMPULSORY, exec producer and founder Chris Toumazou brought onboard both Halal Amsterdam and Handsome from France to join the creative process, granting us more opportunity to collaborate and push the film.
Finished by VFX house Mathematic, the French company provided their talented services to meticulously craft a gigantic yacht through the desert along with Sevdaliza's lair. We worked with the post house to create crystal assets for the interior including a to-scale Lamborghini, uzi and vinyl record.
The result is an ambitious story, fusing the creative possibilities of a music video with the support of a commercial endeavour, all scored to a beautiful song.
To enhance the experience and launch, we decided to project the teaser trailer in key locations in London and New York, projecting some of the opening images onto walls across the cities over a recent weekend. See the attached images for reference
