For most parents, “The Talk” means that awkward conversation about the birds and the bees. For black parents in America, there’s an entirely different, uncomfortable ‘talk’—the race talk. The conversation growing up black in America. Our film spans several decades to show that while much has changed in our world, “The Talk” remains the same. The film was integrated into the plot of ABC’s TV show Black-ish where the characters’ dialogue discussed “The Talk” in society, as well as the film we created. Airing on National television, the message got exposure in ways that we couldn’t have imagined.
