Droga5 partnered with Nice Shoes to create a new campaign for the Ad Council, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Jed Foundation to coincide with mental health awareness month. The spot is the next iteration of their mental health campaign - “Seize the Awkward”
Droga5 Executive Producer Jeremy Fox turned to full service production and post production company, Nice Shoes to produce, edit and finish the campaign. Drawing on Nice Shoes' network of talent and resources, the campaign is directed by Kristian Mercado Figueroa and includes a brand new music video and a suite of digital, social, radio and broadcast assets giving young people the inspiration, language and tools to check in with their friends and support their mental health.
Backed by a bespoke rap track, “Whatever Gets You Talking” the music video is a visual feast of animation and social videos, pulling in an amalgamation of styles that help reflect the experience of searching through multiple social feeds.
After the campaign aired, we got the team together to discuss how the campaign shifted from a live action shoot involving tons of extras in a mall, to a piece driven by animation, remote production, and UGC, while retaining a bold, visual feel.
