ESPN Creative Works and State Farm asked us to come up with a way to take retro footage of Kenny Mayne and have him predict that the “Last Dance” would be made in 2020.
The project was given the green light afer Director/Creative Director, Shaun Collings, developed a test spot that merged new footage of Kenny with footage from 1988. For the broadcast spot, Kenny read at the SportsCenter set (special edition).
Afterwards, our team merged the new audio and footage of Kenny’s mouth with the retro footage. For socials, Kenny shot himself at his home. In both instances, Shaun and our team guided Kenny remotely. We used tools and techniques in Flame to do mouth replacement and match his head movements. From start to finish, this project took a week-and-a-half.
