In France today, a child victim of sexual abuse still has to prove before the law that he did not consent. That he did say “NO”. That’s the unbearable reality the French organization Face à l’Inceste (which act for child protection) is fighting. The brief aimed to raise public awareness regarding this crazy lawful situation & to call upon French citizens to change the law by signing a petition.
To bring the public to ask for a change of law, the first challenge was to popularise the complex legal framework. Through the eyes of a child, the 2min animated film, entitled Two Monsters in my story, raises the disturbing nature of the question of consent. It brings to the attention of the audience how the legal framework forces a victim to keep reliving their physical and psychological nightmare.

By doing so, it places the whole legal system in front of their responsibility. Those who are supposed to help and do justice are here part of the problem. Revealing this situation to a large audience helped to put pressure to make the law change at a political level.
