Pier One - Videos for The Immortal Awards

 

Awaken works across the performance media account for Pier One (a premier hotel set alongside the Harbour Bridge), and developed a series of videos designed to showcase the Pier One experience virtually. The creation of a series of shorter videos were developed to share a range of individual experiences for sharing across social media.

 

Pier One, is a creative escape on Sydney Harbour, and is a hotel designed for experience seekers. The three minute long famil video follows a couples' experience of their luxurious stay there, and captures these experiences and surroundings by using clever camera angles - we shot the exterior from an adjacent pier, from a speed boat AND from a drone to get an array of the external shots. The shoots started at the crack of dawn to capture the stunning sunrises and a mist machine was used to emphasise the sun’s rays streaming through the windows. This can be seen in one of the behind the scenes footage videos uploaded with the entry.

An upbeat soundtrack was used, embodying the positive and happy vibe of the hotel, and fun experiences to be had throughout a stay at Pier One. Further sound effects were also added to the video to create the feeling of ‘being there’. 

 

From the luxurious room experience and the stunning views, sunrise dining under the harbour bride, local area discovery and cheeky dog vacations; the video cleverly intersperses between showing the couples experiences and a first person point of view, allowing the viewer to ‘take themselves there’.

 

The main 3 min video is used on their home page and in the hotel rooms, and is also used as a famil video to share with travel agents and potential visitors who are unfamiliar with the hotel.

 

A 30 second video was developed, focusing on a first hand experience from the couple enjoying a staycation with all the experiences that that encompasses, including the dining and incredible location.

 

A further 15 second edit had a focus on the bar and dining experiences and was used to promote the hotel on social platforms.

 

Four shorter 8 second edits were also developed for use across Facebook and Instagram, and focussed on the following:

 

Generic – Embodying everything the hotel has to offer in a quick snapshot

 

Dining – to showcase the amazing dining and cocktail / drink offering that they have in the gourmet Gantry Restaurant

 

Dogs – Embracing their acceptance of furry friends, as one of very few hotels to welcome dogs to stay at the hotel

 

Staycation – Highlighting the location and unique luxurious vibe of the rooms, which are all different and have individual features.

The results were a series of engaging and enticing videos, which the Clients were thrilled with, and when used as ads have received amazing results.
