For this Campaign the idea was to have characterful people and animals. We were after real gems, unique personalities and authentic individuals. And most crucially, we wanted to put a casting approach together that allowed this Pets at Home film to be seen as one that truly ‘get’ who the pet owners really were. Not always picture postcard people in perfect homes, we did not want sanitised exclusivity.
We wanted the real thing! Pets are everywhere! They know no prejudice. So we went for all walks of life, backgrounds, ethnicities and demographics.
It was really important to get genuine owner/pet relationships, to get real people and their real pets involved in this set of films as much as possible. All their authentic nuances added that extra layer of truthfulness to the film.
