A staggering 3.2 million households acquired a new pet during lockdown, putting the nation’s already overworked vet teams into crisis.

Over 4,000 vets left the industry, with overall numbers falling by 77%.  

The vets that did choose to stay, endured extreme stress and mental health issues.

And to make matters worse, recruitment was down 44%.
