This film is about the worries people have about going to a car dealership and buying a new car. In this film, these worries materialize as big, hairy ‘’Bothers”. Each bother is a physical manifestation of their owner’s particular car buying fear - but they cannot be seen by anyone else (except our audience). Throughout the film we see the enormous ‘pressure to buy’ bother beating down on its owner on the bus, the annoying ‘haggle’ bother embarrassing its owner at a café, the ‘no time to shop’ bother reluctant to let its owner go, the ‘stress drive bother’ causing havoc during a test drive and the weeping, regretful, ‘buyer’s remorse’ bother crying tears all over its owner’s new sports car. The film resolves at the new Toyota store, revealing the Drive Happy project, where car buying bother can now be left behind.
