This familiarity with the category might normally be seen as a benefit as it could save OOHPod! the job of having to explain this particular aspect of the offering. However, we took the view that if we left the consumer to come to their own conclusion about OOHPod! lockers, it could be dangerous. After all, we had just witnessed the demise of the main competitor whose single offering was lockers for online shopping deliveries.
We had to force reappraisal and emphasise the difference from the outset.
Even though it was estimated that the majority of activity might be receiving parcels, we made a bold decision to over-index the sending aspect of the offering in our messaging. In fact, we prioritised it and built our insight on it.
