The track that we re-recorded - 'Time Is On My Side' - is a well known track made famous by both Irma Thomas and The Rolling Stones. In the film its message helps to highlight the dangers of ignoring the climate crisis by pretending it doesn't exist and being under the illusion that we don't have to rush to act. The music was a pre-score, so we composed the music before the shoot and arranged guide vocals for the actors to sing along with on set. It was really important that the actors did not mime on set and that they sung along with the guide vocals with the exact same timings each take. We had to provide 1/3 speed and 1/2 speed music tracks and vocal guides for the aerial work so that they could play around with the speed of movement. Following the shoot we brought in the actors in the film to record their vocals exactly how they had performed them on set, we were very particular about the syncing of vocals to the film even working on zoomed-in edits to make sure they were spot on. Following the vocal session and mixing we worked with 12 brass players to add real instruments to the mix, conducting the session remotely with players in Europe to continue the eco-friendly production practices which were across the entire process.
