The New Zealand gym and fitness brand Les Mills partner with award-winning actor Brett Goldstein to show you that working out doesn’t have to be hell.
The film takes Goldstein through the wringer of a nightmarish, tough, lonely workout, until he is eventually shown that he can choose happy in his fitness journey with Les Mills.
The music also plays with pastiche and clichés, scoring the action in a deliberately stereotypical way at the beginning, so on first watch you’re unsure if this is real or not until well into the film.
To build comedic intensity through the film the composer reworked choir recordings and solo soprano performances alongside a hyper-stretched sample of their cat’s meows which features during the opening scenes.
