What does it mean to be an artist? It's a question people have sought the answer to forever. And what even is an artist anyway? Is there some artist council who dubs you one when you paint your first good painting? I personally never felt like I was an artist at all, even though my whole life and career are about making things. But I was curious, did other people who I thought were artists think that way too? I set out in Tokyo to talk to some very talented individuals to see what their thoughts on the topic were.
We wrangled these meandering conversations into this short documentary. What it became is a film about finding the meaning in anything and everything you do. And seeing how people feel about themselves instead of relying on our assumptions about them.
