Little Black Book is looking for a reporter to work with the editorial team, covering the international advertising and commercial creativity world. The role will involve reporting on the production and post production industry, primarily in the United States but also Latin America.
The day-to-day role will involve ensuring that Little Black Book is at the forefront of the fast evolving production landscape and is the place to come to understand the craft and business of production across the Americas. It will also involve liaising with LBB member companies, following up on their pitches and reporting on LBB’s production and post community. You will also be expected to come up with engaging ideas for news stories and trend features in the realm of commercial production and post production.
You will work within the wider Americas editorial team, which covers the wider advertising industry across North and South America.
This is a role with scope for growth and development, so ideal for someone who has recently completed their journalism training and is looking to establish their career. The scope of the advertising production and post production industry means covering topics as varied as film production, VFX, sound design, music production and supervision, editing, technology, business, gaming, diversity and inclusion, and more.
Requirements
Essential:
Accredited journalism training – e.g. NCTJ, PPA – or equivalent
A-Level in English Language or English Literature
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrable organisation skills
Demonstrable curiosity and passion for creativity (art, fashion, gaming, film etc)
A passion for journalism and writing (a personal blog, contribution to school or university news sites etc)
Basic HTML
Image editing software (e.g. Photoshop, GIMP) Microsoft Excel
Work experience in busy, team-oriented environment
Candidate must be based in or near London and willing to travel to our Soho office at least three days a week
Desired:
BA degree 2:1 or higher
Film editing software (e.g. Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, Filmora)
Work experience in a journalism environment
