Deutsch LA has launched a new campaign for Walmart featuring actor Fred Armisen.
The humorous campaign follows Armisen as he 'cracks the code' on the invaluable savings of Walmart+ Week and is eager to share his mind-blowing revelation with anyone who will listen.
The spot draws inspiration from the math-confused memes as Armisen realizes that Walmart’s week-long sale is easy and makes sense, unlike other one-day sales events. He wants to spread the word that Walmart+ Week is straightforward and simple, with tons of ways to save.
Director Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia; Moonbase 8) reunited with Armisen to create a total of 14 spots for the series. The duo leaned into the dry humor that Armisen is known for to match the playful tone of the campaign.
Armisen, who is bilingual, also filmed Spanish-language spots for Hispanic audiences, helping reach an even wider range of Walmart customers.
