As the holiday season approaches, Hey Wonderful is excited to share a touching story inspired by the new Illumination original animated film Migration, which soars into theatres December 22. Migration follows a family of ducks as they take flight into the thrill of the unknown on a funny, feathered family vacation that will expand their horizons and teach them more about each other, and themselves, than they ever dreamed possible.
In partnership with Amazon, Hey Wonderful aimed to bring the magic of Migration to life with some real-world surprises.
Meet Magie Tran, a STEM educator at Southwood Valley Elementary, whose passion for teaching, contagious joy in the classroom and inspiring story caught our attention. The surprises for Magie and her class unfolded during what she thought was a routine field trip to the Amazon drone facility. Upon the group’s arrival at the facility, a Migration Prime Air drone held a heartwarming surprise, delivering much-needed school supplies for Magie’s students, followed by a second drone delivering an all-expense-paid vacation to Jamaica for Magie and her family, inspired by the ducks’ journey in Illumination’s Migration.
Magie's story, captured in a touching three-minute video titled “Sky’s the Limit,” embodies the true essence of the holiday season. “Sky’s the Limit” is directed by the duo Peking (Nat Livingston Johnson and Gregory Mitnick) and is produced by Hey Wonderful.
Starting November 27, Amazon customers can join Amazon and Illumination’s Migration adventure by entering for a chance to win various holiday prizes, including a trip to Jamaica and gift cards to clear Amazon wish lists here.
As we enter the festive season, let Illumination’s Migration inspire the adventurer within and remind us that sometimes, the most magical moments are the ones we least expect.
