Apple has launched a new “Made on iPad” campaign showcasing the creative process behind the creation of iconic goaltenders’ masks as the North American hockey season has kicked off.
Renowned artists Jordon Bourgeault, Travis Michael, and Dave Gunnarsson bring to life seven of the most exciting goalie mask designs for this season using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil Pro.
Personalised goalie masks are a time-honoured hockey tradition and the only outlet for creativity allowed on NHL ice. The campaign features custom-designed hockey masks for goaltenders Jacob Markstrom, Stuart Skinner, Linus Ullmark, Jeremy Swayman, Sam Montembeault, Thatcher Demko and Joseph Woll. The masks will be worn by the goalies during NHL games and seen in broadcasts throughout the season.
The “Made on iPad” campaign extends across multiple channels, including a digital series that takes viewers behind the scenes to reveal the creative process of the artists. Each film focuses on the creative apps used, including Procreate and Photoshop, and the advanced features of Apple Pencil Pro: squeeze, barrel roll, and haptic feedback. This content will debut on digital and social media platforms. Select cities will also feature out-of-home to reach hockey fans directly.
