ASDA Creates Fantastical Farm to Show Where Its Easter Eggs Really Come From

Today, ASDA has launched a fun, new Easter campaign, which sees two farmers waking up to collect eggs from chicken coops – but these aren’t just any eggs (or coops). 

The 30-second film features two farmers who delight in collecting chocolate Easter eggs from their chicken coops, with each coop in the specific style of a different brand, including Bounty, Mini Eggs, Maltesers, Terry’s, Crunchie and the white chocolate crème egg, which is exclusive to ASDA. The film ends with a showcase of ASDA’s Easter product offerings and the campaign line, ‘’Come for the eggs, stay for the Hot Cross Buns, as tasty as M&S’’.

Utilising the excitement around the iconic and much-loved chocolate Easter egg, the campaign, which runs across TV and is accompanied by tailored content for social channels, captures customer’s attention, and positions ASDA not only as the go-to place to get your eggs, which are on offer at 4 for £10, but the one-stop shop for all Easter products – showcasing the uncompromising value and quality across all of ASDA’s Easter goods, including legs of lamb and hot cross buns.

Pippa Prain, marketing director, Asda, said, “Easter isn’t Easter without a chocolate egg (or four) and this year, we’re giving the nation a fun take on where our Easter eggs ‘really’ come from. But that’s not all we have to offer our customers this Easter - we have a whole host of products from tender legs of lamb, to hot cross buns, stylish Spring clothing and Easter crafts to keep the kids entertained - so this campaign is here to show that ASDA has got all your Easter needs sorted.”

But c’mon, we all know what everyone wants - chocolate eggs, and lots of them. Our latest ASDA campaign captures this perfectly. Showing that this Easter, ASDA is offering many things, but it starts with the eggs.’’

The campaign features a 30-second film, which was produced by Another, directed by Steve Reeves and creatively conceived by Havas London’s creative director Jamie Starbuck and creative team Orla O’Connor and Daisy Bard.


To launch the campaign, Asda is hosting a first-of-its-kind PR activation with social influencers to bring the TVC to life. Over 30 influencers and their families will be immersed in everything Asda has to offer for Easter across food, drink, fashion, homes and GM during a two-day retreat. Influencers will enjoy an overnight stay in a beautiful Farmhouse, similar to what we see at the start of the TV campaign, followed by an Open Farm fun day to engage the whole family in the Easter fun. 

The multi-channel campaign is live across TV, Radio, OOH, social, VOD, Press and online platforms from the 15th of March.
