Visually stunning with epic VFX, Bord Gais’ latest commercial asks us to examine how we choose to use our energy as it can define us and our lives.
A brilliant collaboration between Antidote and Folk WT, this commercial is directed by Antidote’s visionary Alan Masferrer, his second Irish project this year after an incredibly successful campaign for Bord na Mona.
In this beautifully designed and edited ad, we see snapshots of the role energy plays in our lives. Do we lie awake panicking about work or depleting our energy on negative social media? But we also see how energy and Bord Gais can create lovely moments in life - children use the headlights of an electric car to light their makeshift stage for a magic show while a young man comforts his friend after a break up with some video games. Lights provide a sense of safety from what lurks in the darkness while also creating a colour environment for a birthday party. Masferrer captures the beauty of these ordinary moments with a futuristic feel, highlighting how energy usage is a choice and one that we can utilise to propel these special moments further.
Alan Masferrer leads a team of world renowned creators for this commercial with cinematography by Pau Castejon who has worked with the likes of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift and production design by Jose Tirado, who boasts such credits as The Weeknd ‘Secrets’ music video and commercials with Coca Cola.
Antidote’s executive producer Andrew Freedman commented: “It’s always such a privilege to work with Alan Masferrer and his truly creative mind, merged with the great effort from the agency. I hope viewers will appreciate the details of this commercial.”
