DDB Budapest has been crowned Agency of Year by the official agency ranking in Hungary, the M-List.
The M-List, created by MAKS, the Hungarian Association of Communication Agencies, exists to raise the level of creativity in the market while enhancing the prestige of the advertising profession amongst a wider audience.
DDB Budapest ranked number one thanks to two internationally awarded campaigns, plus several pieces of outstanding local work for some of Hungary’s biggest brands.
‘The Impossible Campus’, a campaign for the local streaming service Cinego, was awarded a Silver Lions at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, picked up the Grand Prix at Golden Drum and won gongs at London International Awards, New York Festivals, as well as taking home the top prize at Hipnózis and Arany Penge (Golden Blade). ‘Dataset for Equality’, an initiative for Hungarian Telekom was also recognised at New York Festival in addition to local Hungary award shows.
The win comes shortly after DDB Budapest was named Agency of the Year at two more major local shows, Hipnózis and Arany Penge (Golden Blade).
“We are so proud to reach the top spot at the M-List, especially given its new and more progressive point system. This completes the trifecta for the most important awards in Hungary, as we were named Agency of the Year at both Hipnózis and Arany Penge (Golden Blade) in 2023. Huge congratulations to our teams who are supremely talented and hard-working in equal measure.” said Hannes Wirnsberger, managing director, DDB Budapest.
The M-List association adjusts the criteria for the list each year in order to truly evaluate outstanding creative performance. For the 2023 ranking, results achieved at the most prestigious international competitions were given an increased weight in the scoring system.
