Welcome to "Designing with EQ" by Carat, a content series delving into the unique perspectives, passions, and talents of our agency team members and how they influence our approach to design for people and brands.
In this edition, we're happy to introduce you to Hannah Packan, manager of strategy and insights at Carat US. In this interview, Hannah shares her insights on EQ, the importance of asking questions, and connecting as a team.
Hannah> To me, EQ signifies the capacity for empathy, the ability to step into someone else's shoes, and gain a deeper understanding of their perspective and emotions.
Hannah> Each morning, I prioritise connecting with my team on a personal level. Starting with a genuine check-in about how they're doing sets a positive tone. Then, we transition into discussing the day's work ahead. This approach helps us navigate the day more effectively, considering each other's well-being and what's going on in our personal lives, just so that we can help fill in the gaps when needed.
Hannah> To never hesitate to ask questions, regardless of rank or position. It's crucial to continuously seek understanding and insights from others. Remaining open-minded and curious about different experiences fosters growth and learning. That's advice I cherish and share.
Hannah> We've been focusing on team events and coming together in the office occasionally. Being in each other's physical presence has significantly enhanced our ability to connect on a personal level and has given us more opportunities to understand one another better.
Hannah> I help find the right audience for our brand by understanding and interpreting information about people. I match our brand with the people who will love it.
