Eleanor announces the appointment of Kate Elson as managing director and executive producer for its UK office, effective 1st October 2024.
A true force of transformation, a fearless leader, a builder of companies, Kate’s talent for continually generating curiosity stems from her taste-making prowess, unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and dedication to building deep relationships.
From Prince’s ‘Somewhere Here on Earth’ music video to the recent British Arrows Gold-winning Kahlúa campaign directed by Rodrigo Valdes, Kate has consistently delivered work that exemplifies the highest standards of craft.
Creating the Egg at Bates Dorland, Elson’s entrance into advertising honed her discerning eye. 20 years ago, before director websites, Kate was the curator crafting reels to solve clients’ creative puzzles.
That refined eye for talent led her to become head of new business at Harry Nash, where Elson played an instrumental role in launching the careers of directors like Frederick Bond and the late Ringan Ledwidge.
Elson recalls being drawn to these soon-to-be directorial giants not just because of their incredible portfolios and passionate enthusiasm, but their knowledge of craft and their palpable empathy for those they worked with.
Kate has built a powerful network of relationships and has orchestrated beautiful matches between directors and clients, resulting in award-winning, transformative, and effective work.
Her taste-driven matchmaking also extends to the relationships between directors, editors, colourists, and the beautiful team of professionals that are a part of crafting creative excellence.
Elson says, “Ultimately, the strong partnerships and creative chemistries directors develop play a key role in their continued success. The brilliant Ringan Ledwidge, for example, worked beautifully with his editor Rich Orrick."
