ENVY Advertising has completed full post-production work on Kindred’s TV campaign for Start Up Loans, a government scheme that provides loans and mentoring to individuals looking to set up their own businesses.
The nationwide campaign will be broadcast on both terrestrials and digital channels, highlighting six businesses from across the UK who have had their lives changed with the support of the Start Up Loans scheme.
Director James Miller travelled across the country to document the protagonist businesses, capturing their day-to-day working life in an abundance of naturally observed imagery.
Working alongside Creative Director Gary Knight, ENVY Advertising had the task of translating the large amount of footage into a film that was both inspirational and accessible to potential new small business owners. Editor Nick Armstrong selected shots that felt naturalistic, editing the film to flow in an uplifting and inspirational way.
Colourist Vicki Matich added a highly stylised grade to create a striking look, bringing together the contrasting footage under a single filmic tone, whilst Sound Designer Arge brought the scene’s audio to life with the addition of the voice-over.
Vicki comments: “The starting point for the grade was a LUT that the Director really liked. I built upon that to create an overall look that would bring all the different locations together and the new shots that had been added to the cut. For each location a palette was selected but the tonal values remain constant throughout.”
