Final Pixel announces Hanah Draper as chief innovation officer, a leading innovation agency specialising in next-generation technology and virtual production filmmaking. Having previously served as the global head of production, Hanah joins the executive board of Final Pixel internationally and lead its efforts in revolutionising the film industry.
Hanah's career in the film industry began as a freelance producer, where she gained extensive experience working in the advertising industry, working with award-winning directors to deliver world-class campaigns. Now specialising in virtual production, Hanah has introduced innovative techniques to commercials, film, factual and episodic content, playing a key role in democratising virtual production practices across the industry.
Final Pixel's goal is to revolutionise film production by enabling positive changes underpinned by technology and innovation. It aims to make film, episodic and advertising more accessible, sustainable, diverse and inclusive. The use of virtual sets and digital environments allows filmmakers to recreate any location within the safety of a studio, providing an immersive and controlled environment that accommodates specific needs and creates a boundary-free space for talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Virtual production transcends the logistical challenges of on-location shoots, offering an immersive and controlled studio environment. This opens doors to talent previously overlooked due to accessibility barriers. Hanah's personal experience with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis has driven her to push the industry towards a more accessible and inclusive landscape, highlighting the transformative potential of virtual production for filmmakers facing similar challenges.
Hanah's is deeply committed to sustainable filmmaking and will continue to advocate for diversity and environmental awareness in all Final Pixel productions. Final Pixel's integration of advanced technologies such as real-time rendering, AI, Augmented Reality, motion capture, and machine learning with traditional filmmaking methods allows it to create immersive virtual environments that enhance visual storytelling while promoting sustainable practices. These methods help to lower costs, expedite production schedules and reduce the carbon footprint of each project, providing clients with a competitive edge.
Final Pixel’s collaboration with notable clients such as Warner Brothers Discovery, Sky Kids, BBC, Apple TV+, ABC, Netflix, Disney+, and Oracle Red Bull Racing showcases how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into high-quality creative outputs.
Recently, Final Pixel won the Cannes Film Festival’s Global Production Award for Innovation for its ground breaking film that digitally transported Oracle Red Bull Racing's RB19 from Manhattan, Nevada, to Manhattan, New York, using Unreal Engine to create virtual environments. This approach eliminated physical travel and set construction, significantly reducing the production’s carbon footprint by 16 CO2e, a cost that Final Pixel responsibly paid to offset, making the overall production carbon neutral.
Hanah said, "I am proud to be leading a company that acknowledges diversity, enriches the creative talent pool, and contributes to more authentic and varied storytelling experiences. Additionally, being shortlisted for this year’s IPA iList underscores our dedication to pushing boundaries and advancing industry standards.
"Final Pixel's Virtual Production is more than a technological breakthrough, it exemplifies how innovation can dismantle barriers and breed equality. Our goal is to employ technology to make the film industry more human, providing a nurturing and supportive platform for marginalised groups."
"At Final Pixel, we are committed to revolutionising film production, empowering storytellers, and unleashing a new era of limitless creative possibilities."
