A pair of albums by George Stroud are being released this month; Raw Emotion - Beauty and Raw Emotion - Drama.
Both albums were recorded with a live orchestra at Angel Studios in London (part of the Abbey Road Studios group) and mixed at Abbey Road.
Raw Emotion - Beauty consists of seven elegant, heartfelt and powerful themes perfect for period drama and documentary. Using live ensemble strings, piano, percussion, with solo cello and violin, a toolkit of neo-classical romance, warmth and quality.
Raw Emotion - Drama, meanwhile, features seven exciting, powerful themes, perfect for period drama and business reality TV. Using live neo-classical strings, orchestral textures and hybrid percussion elements, a toolkit of overblown opulence, and daring deeds.
George Stroud comments: “I am really proud of these two albums and it was a joy to be back in Angel Studios again with a live ensemble. This project has been in the works for a fair few months now, as I worked closely with Score from the germination of the idea right up until the final mix stage. We wanted tracks to appeal to current TV briefs, which are proving very popular, by creating a neo-classical sound with a small chamber group. With 18 strings, I was able to write material which ranged from intimate quartet all the way up to hybrid-drama and everything in between! We were very fortunate, that not only do these 2 albums have live players on, but it was also mixed by Paul Pritchard in Abbey Road Studios which elevated the whole project to a new level.”
