In an effort to make sure Canadians get the most out of their tax returns this tax season, H&R Block has launched a new ad campaign for the 2023 tax season under their long standing platform, Get What’s Yours.
In 2023, the government has increased eligibility for certain benefits to help Canadians with the rising cost of living, meaning more people will qualify to get a refund. “Currently, inflation is the highest it’s been in 40 years. We want people to know that our tax experts can help them get a better tax refund, no matter their situation. Which could mean a considerable amount; especially when money is feeling tight,” Hilary Zaharko, VP marketing at H&R Block Canada. “For the eighth year, Sid Lee is helping us to remind Canadians of our tax expertise in a witty and relatable way that is in tune with current culture and trends.”
The online video spot (OLV), ‘GovCoin’, features two crypto enthusiasts discussing the ‘novelty’ of physical cash on a podcast, while ‘Quiet Quitting’ features a worker resigning from her job at barely-audible levels.
“H&R Block’s work has always been funny, light hearted and put the offerings that separate them from their competition front and centre. This year’s work leverages social trends around money, employment and the need for real expertise during tax season,” says Matthew Fraracci, creative director at Sid Lee.
H&R Block’s 2023 Get What’s Yours campaign will run from the end of January to May 1st, 2023, and includes various TV, OLV, radio, digital, and social media ads as well as OOH.
