Iban Boy Puts Needs of Others over His Own Christmas Wishlist in Touching Digi Malaysia Spot

After almost two years of battling Covid-19 and adapting to new norms as a society, we have witnessed countless moments of Malaysia’s true spirit of selflessness. As 2021 draws to a close, Digi continues to celebrate the little acts of going beyond oneself for family and strangers alike all across the country.

In collaboration with Naga DDB Tribal and Mojo Films, Digi has released a heartwarming short film, titled, 'Pemeri'. Taking inspiration from the Iban community and their cultural practices, we see the story of an Iban boy, Kevin who puts the needs of others over his own Christmas wishlist. In the end, his selfless act for a neighbour reveals how much a selfless gift can last a lifetime for others.

We wanted this year’s story to be about Christmas here in our home. So, we reflected the way it is celebrated by communities in East Malaysia. We have Mojo Films to thank for making this story come to life in a year filled with so many challenges. We would like to also wish all Malaysians peace and blessings for the season and everything good for the year ahead.”
