IKEA Canada Makes Waves with First Ever Twitch Live Stream from an IKEA Store

Every gamer has their dream gaming station, and it’s a hot topic on Twitch. Viewers on the streaming platform are always curious about their favourite streamers’ gaming specs and station items. So, Carat and IKEA Canada partnered with Twitch, a platform known for its live gaming and interactivity, to allow a streamer and their community to build their dream set-up using IKEA products. 

The stream will feature Canadian streamer Bawkbasoup broadcasting live from IKEA Ottawa on December 13th, bringing viewers into IKEA ‘after dark’ from 9 – 11pm ET, featuring live gaming in the IKEA showroom, hype product demos across gaming, office, and smart home displays, and of course, IKEA meatballs.

The IKEA live stream on Twitch is one component of the retailer’s campaign for their new gaming products which leverages the iconic art style of 8-bit games, alongside affordability messaging to show that gaming furniture and accessories can be accessible for a wide range of gamers from the everyday hobbyist to esports enthusiasts. 

“Gaming continues to grow as an entertainment lifestyle in Canada with 64 percent playing video games regularly. So, partnering with Twitch in Canada’s first retail store live stream has been incredibly exciting.
