IKEA has launches latest holiday spot called 'Take a Holiday from the Holidays'. The campaign from Rethink is something we all crave at one point or another during the impending season.
While the holidays are often called “the most wonderful time of the year”, for many, the holidays are also one of the busiest, and often, the most stressful times of the year. Through 'Take a Holiday from the Holidays', IKEA aims to remind consumers of those joyful moments of reprieve, no matter how big or small, that we are sometimes able to find for ourselves amidst the chaos that the season can bring.
The campaign is anchored by a film that shows people taking breaks from various holiday festive parties and events - from hiding for a moment in a guestroom at a family holiday gathering, to giving their feet a rest from heels in the bathroom of a New Year’s party, to the family Santa taking a moment for himself in the garage. The film is set to Tiffany’s iconic cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now”, and the creative strategy leans into showcasing the authentic realities around life at home during the holiday season by showing more real and relatable holiday experiences.
“The holidays are one of the busiest times of the year, and as much as we anticipate and treasure celebrating with family and friends, at some point, we all need a little break,” said Jonelle Ricketts, head of marketing at IKEA Canada. “This year’s holiday campaign is all about showing how IKEA can help create those spaces within any home that are perfect for taking a little breather from the mayhem of the holiday season.”
The campaign includes TV, cinema, OOH, digital and social, and will run from November 13th to December 24th.
