Initiative from Rethink invites Canadian customers to craft individual showrooms using the new IKEA Kreativ tool

IKEA has unveiled a new showroom at its Toronto Downtown location and it’s not what customers are expecting – instead of being thoughtfully designed in wall-to-wall IKEA, it is completely empty…

With the Empty Showroom, IKEA teams up with Rethink to invite customers to create their own showroom using the new IKEA Kreativ AI design tool – for a chance to win a $2,500 IKEA gift card so they can make their dream space a reality. 

“Showrooms are such an iconic part of the IKEA retail experience. To see a completely bare room is meant to stop shoppers in their tracks and inspire them to discover the endless possibilities they have at their fingertips with IKEA Kreativ,” says Jonelle Ricketts, head of marketing at IKEA Canada. “The powerful tool is just one way that IKEA helps you bring your home to life, turning it into the ultimate showroom.” 

The Empty Showroom contest runs until September 4th, 2023. Participants must scan the Empty Showroom into the IKEA Kreativ tool, create their own room design using at least five (5) IKEA products; screenshot their room design and post it to their Instagram account with #IKEAKreativContestToronto #IKEAinspo @ikeacanada.

IKEA Kreativ enables customers to fully integrate design solutions and visualise their own living spaces. IKEA Kreativ combines decades of the brand’s life at home expertise with the latest developments in spatial computing, machine learning and 3D mixed reality technologies. Customers can access the IKEA Kreativ room design experience by downloading the free IKEA app from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or by visiting here.

The contest was launched under the brand’s new platform, Bring Home to Life, where IKEA Canada continues to tell the stories of how it helps people bring the spaces that matter most to them to life.
