If you think you like music festivals and you're not one of the very few 1200 people per year who attend the UK's best Indie music festival, In the Woods, you are SO missing out! In fact, you probably don't even know how uncool you really are. But, once you go, you realise that those things barely even matter because you'll be willing to walk to Kent barefoot and sign away your firstborn to have the chance to hear the newest, raddest artists before they break into the mainstream and become hugely popular.
And now, this perfect festival has commissioned Mad Ruffian to make the perfect promo. Christopher Watson-Wood (Creative Director of Mad Ruffian), has created this visual effects masterpiece promo for the festival. The promo comprises the best photos from the festival from 2012 -2014 (taken by Chris and photographer, Tony Jupp) and Chris and the other Ruffians have taken these simple photos and created an entire 3D world from them by meticulously modelling the objects in CG and then projection mapping and digitally painting the images back over them. The camera floats over the scenes and, rather than looking at a picture of people having fun, you feel as though you are immersed and actually there, crowd surfing like you've never actually had the cojones to do. And then, just as you're feeling good, the music (Glass Animals’ Holiest [feat. Tei Shi]) takes over as the energy explodes as a sort of cosmic light orgasm and you're brought back down to earth to your spot at the top of the Quarry Stage, bathed in light and sound and the smugness of knowing that you, now, are part of the elite few who have experienced the In the Woods Experience.
