Inclusively Made has created an Inclusive Language Guide to help creative professionals
Inclusively Made is launching a comprehensive Inclusive Language Guide to help creative professionals communicate effectively and authentically about disability.

Despite growing awareness of the importance of inclusive representation, many creative professionals still hesitate to engage with disability stories out of fear of using the wrong language. This hesitation is contributing to a significant representation gap, with 84% of people with disability reporting they don't feel frequently or appropriately represented in advertising.

To address this industry-wide challenge, Inclusively Made is launching a comprehensive Inclusive Language Guide, designed to give creative professionals the confidence to communicate about disability effectively and authentically.

"The creative industry's fear of getting it wrong is creating unintended barriers to inclusion," says Paul Nunnari PSM, CEO of Inclusively Made. "We're seeing talented professionals hesitate to tell important stories or include authentic representation simply because they're unsure about the right language to use. This guide is about removing that barrier and empowering our industry to move from uncertainty to action."

The stakes are significant. Recent research from the Valuable 500 reveals that 92% of people with disability believe brands have a duty to ensure accessible and inclusive communications. Moreover, with the global disability community wielding an annual spending power of $13 trillion, authentic representation isn't just about social responsibility – it's a business imperative.

The free Inclusive Language Pocket Guide provides creative professionals with:

● Clear guidance on person-first vs. identity-first language
● Common terms to avoid and preferred alternatives
● Core principles for respectful communication
● Real-world examples and applications
● Quick reference format for everyday use

To mark the launch of this essential resource, Inclusively Made is hosting a special edition of their No Silly Questions series on Wednesday, November 27 at 12pm AEDT. The session will feature insights from industry leaders and first-hand perspectives on the importance of getting language right in creative production.
