Meta is releasing a new advertising campaign to raise awareness of its recent launch of Teen Accounts on Instagram. Teen Accounts are a new experience for teens, guided by parents, which have built-in protections that limit who can contact them and the content they see. It also provides new ways for teens to explore their interests. Since launching in the UK, we’ve been automatically placing teens into Teen Accounts, and teens under 16 need a parent’s permission to change any of these settings to be less strict.
The campaign tells the story that parents are always looking for ways to stay on top of things, especially when it comes to their teenagers on social media. The film highlights how Instagram Teen Accounts help teenagers stay connected to the people and things that matter most, with automatic protections in place to give parents more peace of mind.
“We wanted to use this advert to show the journey that parents and teens go on when it comes to social media and demonstrate how the new features work. Teen accounts offer more peace of mind for parents and safety for their teens, and we are delighted to be raising awareness of these tools to parents and teens in the UK via this campaign” said Ciara Farren, marketing director at Meta.
The advert was created by SS+K, with media by Spark and will run for eight weeks until December 8th across TV, Digital Video, Social, Display, Print, Out of home, Audio and Newsletters.
