New creative industries festival, Blend, has today announced that celebrated multi-disciplinary artist Trevor ‘Trouble’ Andrew, aka GucciGhost, will be the headliner for the international one-day B2B creative industries festival in Barcelona on 8th November 2024.
Designed for creatives, by creatives, it will unite creative minds and brands to learn, imagine and develop high-impact collaborations together. Blend is set to take place on 8 November in Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue, where the inaugural event will be co-located with digital arts and music festival MIRA.
With partners including Nike, Snapchat, FAD, Barcelona Design Week, Canada, Ogilvy and Art Directors Club Europe, GucciGhost joins a stellar line-up that already includes Nigerian-born British photographer, entrepreneur, and social activist Misan Harriman, visual artists Desilence, and vocal experimentalist Harry Yeff, aka Reeps100.
Branding and communications – including social, web and onsite – is being looked after by event partner and London-based independent creative agency, The Creative Lab.
An artist at the forefront of blending street art and fashion intellectual property, Andrew - a former Winter Olympics snowboarder for Canada - captured attention across the globe as GucciGhost for his borrowing of Gucci’s name and double G logo in his graffiti-style art, winning himself a partnership with the brand along the way as well as a big fan in Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele.
Speaking about headlining Blend, Andrew had this to say:
“I’m excited to be coming to Barcelona - an amazing and inspiring city - to be part of Blend,” committed Andrew.
“I really like the idea of Blend, as it’s a festival about inspiring collaboration between brands and artists of all types, which is what I like to do. I can’t wait to get to Barcelona in November to be part of Blend and to show some new work.”
There is already high demand for the free-to-attend B2B festival with pre-event registration spaces quickly being snapped up for the industry-backed event.
Blend’s festival director Adam Gough, who is overseeing the launch of the festival, which is a joint venture between UK-based event organiser Flip180 and Fira de Barcelona, is looking forward to welcoming GucciGhost and the creative industry to Blend.
“A serial collaborator and multi-disciplinary trailblazer, Andrew is a once in a lifetime talent so we are delighted to work with him and can’t wait for the creative industry to see his new installation at Blend on 8 November.”
Key themes at Blend 2024 will be the power of art in social adversity, how to disrupt the norm through AI, unleashing the superpower of mind diversity and breaking creative barriers through collaboration.
Blend’s one-day event will include:
· Three immersive installations that challenge the way we see the world
· Four pioneering keynote speakers
· Four panel discussions by 12 diverse industry experts and next-generation disruptors
· Two interactive workshops full of experiential and immersive learning
· One networking ‘Breaking Bread’ lunch featuring local vendors
· One after-party
Initially a one-day event in 2024, the festival will expand into a multi-day show in 2025 and beyond.
