In collaboration with Studio Sixty Billion, Mill+ created this year's IPA Festival Film to celebrate 100 years of Advertising.
The team, led by Mill+ Director Ivo Sousa and Mill+ Creative Director Carl Addy, worked to bring the IPA Festival Film to life from the initial creative concept, to the final execution incorporating design, art direction and animation work. The 60 second sequence celebrates the best adverts of all time but with a comical twist.
Using flash techniques and a combination of key creative softwares such as C4D, After Effects, Illustrator and Nuke, the team added colourful animations and vibrant imagery to reinvigorate an array of classic ads.
Mill+ Creative Director Carl Addy explains, "working with such well loved ads, we wanted to keep the concept of enhancing them simple. The aim was ultimately to get your best mates who’ve starred in ads gone by together for a party. This, along with the injection of ‘frat humour’, helped to create one big celebration in 60 seconds."
Executive Producer on the job Alex Finch explains, "It was fantastic to work on a project with the British institution that is the IPA. The collaboration between Studio Sixty Billion and The Mill was an incredible opportunity to celebrate the truly iconic work of the last 100 years of the British advertising industry. Our concept centred around manipulating some of that classic imagery and re-imagining it as the greatest party of the century, starring some of the favourite faces of British ads. It was a real honour to be involved."
