Jam VFX teamed up with Agile Films and Accenture Song- Spark44 to create three varied spots for Jaguar, centred around night moments. All pulled together under Charlie Robins direction, with the beautiful midnight tones and infectious music. The three, eye-catching films, originally intended for socials, were then snapped up and adapted for cinema advertising as well.
Jaguar is a British multinational vehicle brand under Jaguar Land Rover. And these films highlight just how luxurious, stylish and eye-catching the designs are.
These three films have been created to inspire and showcase the new era and look of Jaguar. Once the films were seen internally, originally intended for socials only, the decision was made to create extended versions for cinema advertisement. All three concepts were filmed in one night in one location.
In particular, ‘Roller Skate’ required precise choreography, to stitch two camera moves together. The speed and pace of the camera, performer, driver and lighting drone- all had to be the same to make the effects work.
On top of all the challenges a technical night shoot has to offer, the location wasn’t as clean as the aesthetic required, so lots of clean up was required to achieve the high-end look and feel of the brand.
“The shoot required a number of disciplines to align all at the same time in order to make the effects work. Careful choreography of roller-skate action and camera work were crucial to make the transitions seamless. This was made all the more harder knowing we had to shoot three spots in that one evening so time was tight. Limited by access to the private test track meant we had to work quickly together. Which all paid off in the end- as you can see by the final films.” said Pete Young (VFX supervisor).
The films went live online across December and January but won’t feature in cinema until later in the year.
