So, what would happen if Kids Help Phone empowered kids to let it all out? And Kids Help Phone mean ALL of it. The hard feelings, the sad feelings, the I’m not sure what I'm feeling feelings.
Kids Help Phone want to help young people across Canada explore all their feelings. Because the truth is we all have mental health and it’s important to express it.
Everyone has feelings and every feeling deserves to be heard. As is. No judgment.
In a space where young people can feel safe and secure to free themselves from all the feelings they hold inside.
Kids Help Phone is breaking down mental health barriers by creating a world where all young people can ‘Feel Out Loud’.
The concept behind the ad is to ask youth to Feel Out Loud, to share how they’re really feeling inside, to Kids Help Phone.
Katherine Hay ICD.D, president & CEO, “For over 33 years, young people have relied on Kids Help Phone for mental health support every day. We want every young person in Canada to know that with Kids Help Phone, their feelings will always have a place to go. Any time, no matter what.”
“We wanted to show young people of all ages that there are no good feelings or bad feelings, they are not alone in their struggles and that there is always hope.”
“Kids Help Phone is a safe space where young people can express all their feelings – as is, without judgement. We’re working to break down the stigma and barriers around mental health and create a world where all youth can ‘Feel Out Loud’ and have a place to do so.
Mike Shuman, creative director at McCann Canada said, "Kids Help Phone is a place all people in Canada have grown up with, and so there is a connection and responsibility to rejuvenate this in a way that would resonate with youth. We wanted to bring the energy to it that it deserved."
Gail Pak, VP creative director at McCann Canada said, "We took this opportunity to work on an iconic brand to heart. It was incredibly important that we were realistic to the issues youth are facing today and made our diverse audience feel seen and heard through all our assets."
Athina Lalljee, associate creative director at McCann Canada, “The new platform ‘Feel Out Loud’ isn’t just about being loud. It’s about giving your feelings a place to go. With this new platform and campaign, we wanted to make sure young people felt seen. With each story, we tried to be as realistic and relatable as possible – to create a connection between young people and Kids Help Phone.”
Jayme Fairbridge, senior art director at McCann Canada, “This cause is extremely close to our hearts and we were lucky to have the opportunity to work with a celebrated director, Matilda Finn, who shared the same level of passion and dedication. Matilda treated each story with the respect and maturity it deserved; using her eye for emotion to draw out the raw, and sometimes visceral, feelings young people know all too well.”
