KODE announces the signing of acclaimed director, Jon E Price. Known for his ability to blend cinematic storytelling with playful craft, Jon’s artistic approach to filmmaking makes him a perfect addition to KODE’s roster. "KODE have that inspiring balance of enthusiasm and ambition, making great commercial work, and I’m very excited to join them on this journey.” says Jon.
Jon’s work as a director navigates the everyday through a unique lens, seamlessly combining formal cinematic techniques with elements of video-art practices and performance. Jon pushes the boundaries of form and storytelling in the commercial landscape, resulting in recognitions at the British Arrows, Creative Circle, Kinsale, and 1.4, as well as four Vimeo Staff Picks. Most notably he was the director and creative director behind Levi’s largest multinational campaign in over a decade, ‘Your Voice. Your Way’, which spanned 11 territories and amassed over 50 million views online. The international campaign highlighted emerging talent in London, Paris, and Barcelona and allowed Jon to shine a light on raw grassroots music.
He has since gone on to work with BBC, On Running, Clarks and Greenpeace. However, Jon’s deft ability to blend personal storytelling with experimental filmmaking is most prevalent in the episodic series 26.2 Miles: The Runners’ Story. A five-part mini-series commissioned by The Face magazine for On Running.
Reflecting on his new venture with KODE, Jon shares, "I’m joining KODE at a really interesting point in my career. I’ve spent the last two years away from the industry while I completed a Master of Fine Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London. This time enabled me to expand my practice, take creative risks and explore new cross-disciplinary skills. I’m very excited to join these dots back to collaborative projects with KODE”.
“As well as his wealth of experience and exceptional portfolio, what I found really standout about Jon is how he draws inspiration from multiple disciplines. His pool of references, and knowledge of the arts really excites me, and I look forward to working with him as he re-engages with commercials and commissions.” says KODE’s co-founder, and executive producer, Jack Goodwin.
