Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers for Under Armour by Justin Abernethy
L'ÉLOI has announced the addition of Toronto-based director and photographer Justin Abernethy to our team of artists. Known for his bold visual style and ability to capture striking imagery across diverse mediums, Justin brings a fresh and dynamic perspective to the L’ÉLOI roster.
Growing up in the early 2000’s, Justin was - and continues to be - influenced by the rich nature of cartoons and animation, bold graphic design, and various digital mixed-media of the era. With this Y2K-inspired lens, his work utilises texture, stark contrasting tones, and vibrant bursts of light and colour to create abstract depictions of his subject matter that transcend both moving and still images.
Justin has collaborated with leading brands on distinctive campaigns: for Samsung, he captured Team Canada’s Philip 'Wizard' Kim, winner of the 2024 Olympics; for KFC, he reimagined the iconic packaging with a striking upside-down perspective; and with Under Armour, he photographed Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers in a campaign now featured in stores across the US.
Éloi Beauchamp, CEO and founder of L’ÉLOI, shared his excitement, “Justin’s energy and innovative style make him a perfect addition to our roster of artists. We’re excited to see how his work will help elevate L’ÉLOI’s creative impact.”
Justin Abernethy shares a similar sentiment, “L’ÉLOI’s roster and body of work truly stood out from other Canadian production companies - they embody a unique vision that’s unmatched. From surreal fashion films to highly stylised commercial projects, their creative team brings a refreshing perspective to an oversaturated market”.
