Let's! Revolution! Receives Honourable Mention for Excellence in Audio from IGF

Over 500 individual game submissions were accepted to the 26th annual Independent Games Festival, making history for the largest and longest-running showcase for independent game developers. The first original game title from award-winning animation studio, BUCK and internationally renowned music studio, Antfood, Let’s! Revolution! has been awarded an Honourable Mention for Excellence in Audio by the IGF jury.  

A clever mashup of deductive tile-flipping reminiscent of Minesweeper and tactical turn-based strategy, each of the six playable characters puts a unique spin on the basic rules, inviting players to rethink their optimal strategies again and again. Antfood’s captivating soundtrack and intricate sound design for Let’s! Revolution! breathes life into the enchanting world of Beebom.

“It’s such an honour to be recognised for the soundtrack, we put a lot of love and weirdness into creating a sonic palette that had as much personality as BUCK’s characters and boards. We strived to compose music that would transport players into a sonic world that felt both familiar and otherworldly.” said Wilson Brown, executive creative director, Antfood.

Each region in this retro-futuristic sonic landscape has a unique sound. With lively melodies and dynamic percussion, Phlox swells with the spirit of discovery and adventure, whereas churning chord progressions and mesmerising melodies echo through Cymbidium’s ancient woodlands. Dreamy chords, ethereal choirs and ritualistic percussion flow through the mystical lands of Saffron. Upon reaching the bustling and carnivalesque capital Beebom City, an enchanting festive atmosphere almost masks the kingdom’s darker undertones.

Also shortlisted for SXSW Game of the Year 2023, Let’s! Revolution! is available to play on Steam. 

The Independent Games Festival is part of GDC 2024, which will be held in San Francisco from March 18-22, 2024.
