Artists Louisa Loizeau and Jelly London-represented Hattie Newman created a rainbow installation at 10 Downing Street to celebrate Pride month and their annual reception to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community, in partnership with the GREAT campaign.
The installation took 24 hours to install, 8000 metres of biodegradable rainbow twine all in classic British weather whilst taking regular breaks in order to allow the news reporters to film their segments.
"It was such a joy to work with so much colour and a material I’ve never used before. Meeting Larry the resident cat was a highlight, although he did tangle up my rolls of string a few times!" said Hattie Newman .
Hattie Newman is an image-maker, animation director - and one of London’s foremost papercraft artists. Working with brands ranging from Lacoste, TFL to Yeo Valley.
