Over the last few years, electronic artist and composer Max Cooper, has worked with Architecture Social Club and Regan Appleton on a new type of 3-dimensional audio/visual light field installation. It launches in New York on September 8th, with a live performance from Max.
The project is called A E T H E R and is an immersive sea of light which you wraps around the visitor as they walk around the space at 306 Bowery in Manhattan. The light sculpture is audio-synced and will be running as an individual installation throughout the week, as well as being accompanied by a live Max Cooper show on September 8th.
The content of A E T H E R plays on the emotional connection of humans to fundamental natural forms and explores the beauty of basic spatial audio/visual structures: symmetries, waves, dimensionality, colour and geometric forms.
