From a dog destroying your newly-made cake, to kids snuggling up at storytime in a tent, to late night pizza cravings: this new campaign for Carpetright directed by new director Megan Maczko who captures life’s heart-warming and memorable moments at home, using the carpets as canvas.
Shot in Ljubljana, this shoot had a 50/50 gender balanced set, including an all female agency and client representation as well as a female director. The campaign was created by VMLY&R’s Tamryn Kerr and produced by Missing Link Films.
Director, Megan Maczko: "The inspiration for this year’s campaign came from the idea that the floors we live on share in the special everyday moments that make up a lifetime, so I wanted each vignette to not only celebrate the product, but the characters within. We achieved this by intercutting traditional coverage with “life from above” crane shots that beautifully showcase the product. Since the overhead camera angle can detach the viewer from the characters, I motivated the performances to lift to camera to maintain our connection to them.
We had two days to shoot 11 films on eleven different sets in a studio which were incredibly designed by Mateja and beautifully shot/lit by Mark Patten, so that they feel like real people’s homes. It was definitely challenging, but so fun & satisfying to accomplish - we actually wrapped early by some miracle! Ljubljana is an incredible place to shoot - I loved working with the wonderful team at Division Productions - highly recommend!”
