More than 410 people from across the advertising industry in the north have attended this year’s NABS Fashion Show, held yesterday (25 September 2024).
In total, the event raised £28,000 to support the mental wellness of people working advertising, marketing and media.
The money comes at a significant time for NABS, as demand for its services continues to rise. In 2023, the charity received 4,500 calls from people in need of support, while more than 1,500 people attended its range of confidence and skills boosting workshops.
New for this year were event venue, as well as a partnership with River Island (fashion sponsors) and Models of Diversity, a charity which promotes greater representation of diversity in the fashion, beauty, and media industries.
Kate Harris, regional director, NABS, said, “NABS cannot exist without industry donations, so we’re immensely grateful to everybody who attended the event as well as our event sponsors and partners.”
Angel Sinclair, founder, models of diversity, said, “Teaming up for the Manchester Fashion Show demonstrates NABS’ and Models of Diversity’s shared commitment to representation, while showcasing some brilliant up and coming catwalk talent.”
