Every year, hundreds of New Yorkers win big with the lottery, but many of those winnings have gone unclaimed because people forget to check their tickets. So just in time for Halloween, McCann NY’s design team put a fun and spooky spin on these unclaimed tickets by designing posters called ‘The Unclaimed Collection,’ inspired by classic 1960’s horror movie posters. Posters “The Unclaimed,” “The Forgotten Wins,” and “The Expiring,” to name a few, act as reminders to New Yorkers to claim their winning tickets… because nothing is scarier than missing out on millions.
“The concept crafts spooky and humorous narratives around the idea of missed winnings using classic horror movie poster imagery. Each poster, such as "The Forgotten Wins" and "The Expiring," correspond to a different horror sub-genre, adding a creative twist to the campaign,” said Rene Delgado, associate creative director at McCann.
Posters will be designed for OOH and animated for social. OOH placements will be located strategically in areas that people frequent to go buy lotto tickets and in spooky towns like Amityville and Sleepy Hollow, NY.
