The service was created with Supercell to give skills access to creators and gamers

The gaming community is vast and brimming with creative talent, from artistically-inclined fans to professional animators and illustrators. In an effort to tap into their own global community, Supercell called on experience design company North Kingdom to develop a platform where anyone can become a creator.

With the launch of the website ‘Supercell Make’, users, fans and the wider community can create new skins for Brawl Stars, as well as vote up and down on content to potentially be added to the game. The platform marks Supercell’s first foray into community-driven content creation.

“I love the way Supercell treats their fans as part of the family. In this case, giving their very dedicated, talented and creative players a chance to co-create and affect in-game content,” says Daniel Isaksson, tech director at North Kingdom. “Together with the Supercell team, we’ve built a service that is fun and easy to use, whether you’re a creator or gamer. This project made me want to brush up on my 3D skills and create a few skins of my own!”

North Kingdom was responsible for the technology, design, user experience and the animation used in the trailer for the platform.

The Supercell team adds: “We couldn’t have wished for a better partner than North Kingdom for bringing Supercell Make to life. It has been their project as much as ours from day one. They strived for excellence in all areas from the get-go and also challenged our thinking when they believed an alternative solution would result in a better end product. We are 100 percent looking forward to our future projects together.”

The two companies first started collaborating four years ago, and North Kingdom has since helped Supercell increase the company’s community engagement and extend several of their game experiences, prolonging the user journey of their dedicated gamers and superfans.

"We are humbled by the responsibility Supercell has entrusted in us with this project, and for being part of their long-term journey in making the best digital experiences for their fans,” says David Eriksson, North Kingdom’s chief creative officer. “Sharing the same high ambitions and attention to detail has made us into perfect partners, and we are so excited for this and other future collaborations.”

Supercell Make can be found online here.
